OVERLAND PARK, KS - Today, the Kansas House of Representatives rejected a resolution that sought to place a discriminatory constitutional amendment provision on an upcoming ballot. This amendment is an affront to all Kansans who value the right to personal autonomy and the ability to make personal health care decisions without political interference. Fundamental individual rights and liberties should not be subject to a vote.

Still, today's outcome is only a temporary victory for reproductive rights in Kansas. We need all Kansans standing ready to defend these rights, as we defend the Kansas Constitution and work to ensure that politics are not put above women’s health.
