Join us this June to canvass for an ordinance that truly meets the needs of our community.
We know, personally, many families who struggle to simply enroll their children in school or open bank accounts. We learn how our elderly neighbors face barriers when we watch them walk into the pharmacy to pick up a prescription, then leave empty-handed. And every day, we see people experiencing homelessness, unable to access healthcare or other services.
We know that municipal ID would provide a meaningful solution to our neighbors — to as many as 30,000 Wyandotte County residents who currently don’t have a photo ID.
This is why we’re ramping up our canvassing efforts in June for the Safe and Welcoming Wyandotte Campaign. The Safe and Welcoming Ordinance will serve the diverse population by increasing safety and access to resources, ensuring local law enforcement is not focusing their resources on federal immigration enforcement, and building community among Wyandotte residents.
