By imposing a wholesale ban on girls and young women who are transgender participating in athletics consistent with their gender identity, this bill discriminates based on transgender status and sex in violation of the United States Constitution and Title IX of the Civil Rights Act.

We want voters to have a good experience participating in democracy, to feel confident that their vote counts and is counted. This past election cycle in Kansas proved the value of flexibility in providing that good experience.

We support every effort to develop policies and programs aimed at rehabilitating the people in Kansas’s prisons. Good-time credits incentivize good behavior (rather than simply punishing bad behavior), helping inmates to develop positive habits, and thereby reducing recidivism rates.
