The American Civil Liberties Union today put Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach on notice that it will take legal action if the state does not comply with federal voting law.

The U.S. Supreme Court today invalidated a burdensome Arizona state documentation requirement that restricted its citizens' ability to register to vote in federal elections. A similar law in Kansas has been in effect since January of this year.
