GEO Group Chairman George Zoley said the company stands to gain up to $1 billion in additional revenue from detaining and surveilling undocumented immigrants.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in both Kansas and Missouri have been following recent events and have worked to compile documents to aid our community.

Rashane Hamby, policy director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas, follows testimony in a legislative committee hearing on a proposal her group opposes to have state Supreme Court justices elected rather than appointed by the governor

“The Supreme Court should not be for sale to the highest bidder,” Hamby said. “If this passes, it will be a radical departure from Kansas’ longstanding commitment to judicial independence.”

“CoreCivic has never answered for the horrendous conditions and dangerous violence that peaked in 2021 and contributed to the closure of the Leavenworth facility,” warned the ACLU of Kansas.
