Compounding Barriers to Ballot Return Assistance

  • Status: Passed committee
  • Position: Oppose
  • Bill Number: HB 2493
  • Latest Update: January 26, 2026
rebrand oppose transparent

Requiring a person transmitting or delivering a ballot on behalf of another voter to include their driver's license number in the written statement on the ballot envelope and to be a qualified elector.

This bill will make it even more difficult for voters who are elderly, live in rural areas, have disabilities, or face other obstacles to casting their vote. It also raises serious voter privacy and data concerns and increases burdens on election workers, while undermining confidence in our elections.
