Voting Rights Policy Strategist

The ACLU of Kansas seeks a dynamic, creative, self-motivated team player to serve as a Voting Rights Policy Strategist. The Voting Rights Policy Strategist is a staff position within the Department of Policy and Research and will report to the Director of Policy and Research. This position will serve as a key policy and advocacy expert on civil rights and civil liberties issues surrounding voting rights through research, analysis of legal and policy issues impacting voting rights, and protection of key provisions of the Voting Rights Act. The role is responsible for analyzing and developing state and local policies, conducting policy and data research on the position’s issue portfolio, supporting an impactful, non-partisan policy advocacy program, and developing a range of materials and trainings to utilize and disseminate research findings and recommendations for public policy. The position is heavily focused on policy, legal, and factual research and analysis. During the Kansas legislative session, this staff person will regularly interact with the legislative process. The ACLU of Kansas is also deeply engaged in policy work at the city and county level in jurisdictions across Kansas; as a result, this position may involve some travel to communities around the state and can be based in either our Overland Park, KS or Wichita, KS office.

Data Manager

The ACLU of Kansas seeks a self-motivated team player to serve as a Data Manager. Political Director

The American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas seeks to hire an experienced, passionate, strategic, and innovative Political Director. This position will have primary responsibility for functions related to Kansans United for Civil Liberties (the IRS Section 527 organization), managing a non-partisan and non-endorsing political program that educates voters about candidates' positions on the issues, implementing get out the vote (GOTV) programs, facilitating collaboration with critical organizational partners, leading the organization’s engagement on state and local ballot initiative campaigns, and serving as a key point of contact for current and prospective elected officials throughout the State of Kansas.
