ACLU of Kansas to host a series of statewide tours titled Where Freedom Stands: Civil Liberties in Kansas Today

KANSAS CITY, KANSAS – The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Kansas will host a cross-state tour titled Where Freedom Stands: Civil Liberties in Kansas Today in the coming summer months.  These events will take place in a nearly a dozen Kansas cities, and are open to the public.

ACLU of Kansas Executive Director Micah Kubic will lead a conversation about the status of civil liberties in Kansas and the United States.  Participants will learn about recent civil liberties victories and have an opportunity to provide feedback on area issues that need ACLU involvement.

“From advancing racial justice to defending free speech, from protecting privacy to securing equality for LGBT individuals – the civil liberties landscape in Kansas and the United States is changing quickly,” said Micah Kubic, executive director of the ACLU of Kansas.  “We look forward to bringing our Where Freedom Stands tour to the State, and to getting Kansas engaged in the movement to defend the constitutional rights that belong to all of us.”
