OVERLAND PARK, KS -  "This proposed bill raises serious questions of equal protection. It also undermines the Kansas State High Schools Activities Association's own guidance. Having the opportunity to participate in sports results in positive outcomes for students—better grades, greater homework completion, higher educational and occupational aspirations, and improved self-esteem. Producing those outcomes should be the focus, rather than singling out certain students for discrimination."
