Welcoming Wednesday August Events

August 14, 2019 @ 6:00 pm 7:30 pm
Join us this August to canvass for an ordinance that truly meets the needs of our community.

We are dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming community for all our neighbors of Wyandotte county; this means that we have an inclusive community that is connected and stronger. Currently, some of our neighbors in Wyandotte County are without a government-issued photo ID. Our neighbors who lack identification often times do not feel welcomed in their own community; but we can do something to fix this, together!

The Safe and Welcoming Ordinance creates a vibrant, more connected community, where everyone wins. The ordinance includes a municipal ID program which would increase access to enrolling children in school, opening a bank account, picking up prescriptions, and accessing health care. Additionally, the ordinance affirms that local law enforcement will not volunteer to take on unfunded immigration enforcement.

Be part of the fight! Come canvass with us in Wyandotte to knock doors this Welcoming Wednesday and have meaningful conversations with our neighbors about passing this important ordinance.
