Bio

Mary joined the ACLU of Kansas in June 2008 and is the affiliate's Operations Manager. Mary started her career as a community organizer in Portland, OR within the immigrant communities’ before moving to Kansas City. Mary works cross-departmentally providing logisitical and program support to the affiliate as well as administrative and financial work.

Mary is currently unit chair of ACLU Kansas United and was part of the original union organizing staff at the affiliate in 2020.

Transgender Birth Certificates

On Thursday May 12th, the ACLU of Kansas submitted opposition testimony to proposed changes to K.A.R. 28-17-20, an administrative policy which relates to the process for making changes to birth certificates.

Tell your lawmakers it's time for same-day registration in Kansas - Sign our petition today!

 A bill has been introduced in the House Committee on Elections  that would finally allow Kansans to register to vote the day of the election. This could be a tremendous step forward for voting rights in Kansas, but Kansas lawmakers need to know this is what their constituents want.
