To: All County Election Officials RE: Election Protection Program for August 4, 2026 Primary Election

On August 18, 2026, we sent a letter to all Kansas County Election Officials regarding two issues that arose during our 2026 Primary Election Protection Program: 1) reports from voters receiving mixed messages or encountering confusion from poll workers about the voting options for unaffiliated voters and voters affiliated with a party that is neither the Republican nor Democratic party; 2) several of our volunteer poll observers noted that the polling sites they visited lacked clear or obvious signage regarding curbside voting.

We encourage Kansas County Election Officials to review our findings and recommendations for mitigating these barriers at the voting booths so that every eligible Kansan is able to make their voice heard in our upcoming General elections.
