When infamous for-profit prison corporation CoreCivic attempted to reopen their notorious CoreCivic Leavenworth facility, the community banded together. From this emerged a new nonprofit, the Carceral Accountability Council, which aims to advocate for people-oriented justice in Leavenworth and beyond.
