ACLU of Kansas, El Centro, community partners rally for democracy

CONTACT: Esmie Tseng, ACLU of Kansas, [email protected]

WHAT:
Ongoing attacks on our civil rights and civil liberties underscore the need for a strong and representative democracy, and local policy is fundamental to building that protection. The ACLU of Kansas, El Centro, and community partners will gather to discuss how Johnson County can lead the way in ensuring language access at the polls. As Independence Day approaches, this event is a reminder that democracy is about more than casting a ballot, but also about how we continue to build an inclusive community.

Spokespeople from several community organizations will provide testimony and be available for onsite interviews post-hearing.

WHEN:
Tuesday, July 1 at 10 a.m.

WHERE:
Johnson County Square Park

Southeast corner of Santa Fe Street and Kansas Avenue
(Across from the Johnson County District Courthouse at 150 W Santa Fe St, Olathe, KS 66061)
