Smart Justice Unity Meeting

December 14, 2019 @ 3:00 pm
December 15, 2019 @ 4:45 pm

We know that the Kansas criminal justice system is broken. There are over 10,000 Kansans incarcerated in prisons across our state costing us over $240 million each year. In addition, the system is filled with racial disparities. The time to act is now.

Join the ACLU of Kansas and residents of Butler & Sedgwick Counties for a Smart Justice Unity Meeting on Saturday, December 14 from 3-5pm at the Evergreen Library Branch (2601 N. Arkansas, Wichita 67204). RSVP here!

During the meeting, we will share stories about the impact of bad policies and share our solutions to build a smarter justice system in Kansas. The goal of the meeting is to educate, empower, and enroll those in attendance in the movement to reduce mass incarceration in the state of Kansas. We will focus on tangible solutions to fix our broken criminal justice system and the bills that will be introduced in the 2020 legislature to make that happen.

We have the power to fix our broken criminal justice system, but it will take the community uniting together to achieve something better! You can RSVP for the event and spread the word to your family, friends, and colleagues by clicking here.
