Karen Casebolt joined the ACLU of Kansas in June of 2015 as Development Director, but started her fund development career at the ACLU of Illinois more than 20 years ago.
She was hired there as Development Assistant in 1997 and was later promoted to Membership Director and Major Gifts Officer. She left the ACLU in 2004 to devote her development skills to her other love, the arts, and began consulting for a music organization. After a move to Kansas City in 2006, she expanded her consulting business and began providing bookkeeping and financial management services to for-profit clients as well. When the opportunity at the ACLU of Kansas arose, she jumped, and is thrilled to be back with the ACLU.
Karen received a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University, where she studied linguistics and music. In her spare time, she enjoys performing in various classical music groups and trying to keep a garden alive.
