Ellen Glover joined the ACLU of Kansas as Field Director in June 2018 with almost ten years experience in community organizing for racial, economic and social justice.
Prior to the ACLU of Kansas, Ellen was a Senior Organizer at ONE Northside in Chicago where she was responsible for running state-wide campaigns related to mental health justice and leading the grassroots fundraising efforts. Through her years in organizing in Chicago, Ellen has worked on various issues including affordable housing, workers’ rights, mental health justice, the school to prison pipeline, and electoral organizing.
Ellen is particularly interested in building grassroots power among those who are most directly impacted by issues of civil rights and civil liberties.
Ellen earned her Bachelor’s degrees in social work and sociology from Loyola University Chicago.
Ellen lives in the Kansas City area with her partner, Alex, and their two dogs.
